Charles Perez, Jr. Wrestling Scholarship Fund, Inc.
A New Jersey Nonprofit Corporation
The Charles Perez, Jr. Wrestling Scholarship Fund, Inc (CPWSF) is an organization, founded in 2003. Our mission is to provide scholarships to student athletes participating in the sport of wrestling at high schools in Monmouth, Middlesex, and Ocean County. CPWSF will offer the same support, dedication and positive attributes that Charles carried with him everyday. We will seek to enhance communication between CPWSF and the wrestling programs in Monmouth, Middlesex, Somerset, Mercer, Hunterdon and Ocean counties.
Plans call for scholarships to be awarded annually, the amount of the scholarship will depend upon the amount of funds available. This year’s awards will go to students in Regions 5 and 6, from Monmouth, Ocean, Middlesex Somerset, Mercer and Hunterdon counties. The Corporation has also established a scholarship fund for Charles’ daughter, Candace and his son, Nick.
The CPWSF will be awarding scholarships (essay contest) to high school seniors in the 2007 graduating class. Each scholarship award will be in the amount of $500.00 and will be presented at our annual wrestling pre-season banquet, to be held on a Sunday afternoon in Mid-October 2006. All proceeds from this banquet will go towards the scholarships.
Please take the time to commit and dedicate yourselves to this cause as Charlie Perez dedicated everything in his life, to his family, various wrestling programs and community. Charlie was always there for everyone’s wrestling program at any time, we depended on him constantly and never did he let us down. Please be there for Charlie and his family as it is now Charlie’s turn to depend on us.
