Our Wrestling Community in remembrance of Charlie Perez Jr. will give the wrestling preseason kickoff dinner on Sunday October 21, 2007. Come start the season with the Coaches, Wrestlers, and Fans.  Teams from Central Jersey and the Jersey Shore will choose their Charlie Perez Jr. Award winners and each will receive their award at the dinner.  The award winners are eligible for a $500.00 scholarship to be presented at the dinner to one wrestler from each Middlesex, Monmouth, and Ocean County as well as one wrestler representing other parts of the state.  The scholarship winners will be selected through a scholarship essay application process.  All proceeds from this dinner will go towards an Education Trust for Charlie’s two children and these wrestling scholarships.  We think it is a wonderful way to kick off the season while officials, coaches, wrestlers and parents get to come together in an environment to celebrate wrestling and remember one of the sports most dedicated members.  So, mark it down, gather some friends, and bring along a Charlie story or two.

Ron Mazzola will emcee our event while a special to be named later "Guest Speaker" will be an added attraction. The dinner will be held at the first rate PNC Arts Center Reception Center that will make for a wonderful afternoon of food, fun, and wrestling fellowship.  KickOff the wrestling season in style and at the high level we have come to expect from our wrestling community.  With over 70 schools involved it won't take long to reach our 175 person dinner goal so please don't get caught looking in from the outside, first come first serve on tickets.
